- Uncovered new approaches to treating breast cancer that have caused an increase in the survival rate.
- Investigation of improvements to current cancer treatments that will overcome cancer drug resistance. and lead to the development of highly personalised treatments that will give patients a greater chance of survival.
- Prevention of sudden cardiac death through early diagnosis and treatment.
- High success rate of liver transplants.
- Improved outcomes for patients with liver cancer and hepatitis C.
- Improvement in the treatment of haemophilia.
- Developed new ways of detecting a person's propensity to develop asthma and inflammatory bowel disease.
- We are currently developing vaccines aimed at preventing the spread of tuberculosis. With 1 in 3 people in the world infected, tuberculosis causes two million deaths every year.
- We are in the process of discovering new therapies that will prevent diabetic complications linked to the vascular system.
