  • Uncovered new approaches to treating breast cancer that have caused an increase in the survival rate.
  • Investigation of improvements to current cancer treatments that will overcome cancer drug resistance. and lead to the development of highly personalised treatments that will give patients a greater chance of survival.
  • Prevention of sudden cardiac death through early diagnosis and treatment.
  • High success rate of liver transplants.
  • Improved outcomes for patients with liver cancer and hepatitis C.
  • Improvement in the treatment of haemophilia.
  • Developed new ways of detecting a person's propensity to develop asthma and inflammatory bowel disease.
  • We are currently developing vaccines aimed at preventing the spread of tuberculosis. With 1 in 3 people in the world infected, tuberculosis causes two million deaths every year.
