Colloquium
The last two Centenary Colloquia held in November 2010 included:
Centenary Institute Colloquium VII: In Search of Melanoma’s Achilles’ Heel – Signalling, Death Mechanisms and Tumour Immunology
Leading international and local researchers presented on the most pressing issues in melanoma research. Keynote speaker Associate Professor Maria Soengas from the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre in Madrid presented on the role of autophagy in melanoma.
Centenary Institute Colloquium VIII: The Role of Bioinformatics in the Post-Genomic Era
This event brought together pioneers of bioinformatic research across the gamut of genomics, proteomics and interactomics to illustrate how bioinformatic research is impacting our understanding of biology and disease. This colloquium featured world-class speakers presenting results of cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art analyses, whilst highlighting bioinformatic approaches relevant to all researchers within the biological sciences. Keynote speakers included WEHI Head of Bioinformatics Prof Terry Speed, IMB ARC Federation Fellow Prof John Mattick and UNSW Head Systems Biology Initiative Prof Marc Wilkins.
