Ivan Shin

Director of Development and Philanthropy

Ivan Shin joined Centenary as Director of Development and Philanthropy in 2020.

Previously, he led a team of 35+ faculty-based, central, and international fundraisers across UNSW Sydney’s faculties and divisions. In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of the major gifts program, he worked closely with the Vice President of Philanthropy to plan the University’s inaugural comprehensive campaign with a proposed goal of $650M raised by 2025. He established and built UNSW’s international development team and managed key relationships with current and prospective donors outside of Australia.

Prior to joining UNSW in 2016, Ivan coordinated international outreach for Development and Institute Relations at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and was the senior fundraising strategist for the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and the Resnick Sustainability Institute during its “Break Through” campaign. He held development leadership roles at UC San Diego’s School of Global Policy and Strategy (GPS), the University of Pennsylvania, and and Duke University.

Earlier in his career, Ivan worked in real estate, recruitment, and market research at technology and professional services firms. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley and Duke University.
