Nanette Herlihen

N. Nanette Herlihen (she/her) has led the People Operations team at Centenary since 2006. She is a generalist human resources professional who is passionate about people, culture, and communications. She trained at Western Sydney University and is an educator at TAFE Ultimo and St George. She is a strategic HR professional with experience in health and not-for-profit, as well as tourism, marketing, and distribution.

She is a member of the senior and executive teams at Centenary and provides advice to all members of Faculty and Associate Faculty about strategic people-centred initiatives. She is the Executive Sponsor of Centenary’s Inclusion and Gender Equity Program (IGEP), connecting IGEP members with external opportunities and communicating with Centenary’s executives on IGEP initiatives. She is a lifetime member of Franklin Women, a social enterprise supporting womxn in STEMM. She aids with the selection of Centenary workers who are eligible to mentor or become mentees through the Franklin Women Mentoring Program.

Along with her team (The Culture Champs), she provides professional support to all levels of workers and students at Centenary in every aspect of HR, WHS, Risk and Compliance and Front of House operations. She has a keen interest in internal communications, policy interpretation, mental health, well-being, and psychological safety. She is an active member and contributor of the National MRI HR Leaders Network and the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI).
