The Bellingham Cup is held in honour of Aaiden Bellingham – a much loved young man who was sadly taken from his family and friends as a result of a sudden cardiac episode.

The Cup is not only a wonderful tribute to Aaiden, but an invaluable way to spread the word about the importance of medical research in the area of sudden cardiac death in the young.

The 2026 Bellingham Cup will be held on Saturday, 28 March 2026.

Proudly supporting the Centre for Cardiovascular Research

Sudden Cardiac Death is the tragic and unexpected passing of an otherwise healthy person which can be due to an underlying genetic heart disease. Two to three young Australians under 35 die every week from sudden cardiac death.

The death of a young person is an unimaginable tragedy that leaves families grappling with profound grief and uncertainty.

Alongside groundbreaking research at the cellular level, Centenary facilitates genetic counselling and care, helping families understand their risk factors by funding genetic analysis, through the Genetic Heart Disease Clinic.

We rely on our generous donors to support the families who need our help and provide them with the answers they desperately seek.
