Adjunct Associate Professor Vicki Taylor

Appointed Governor in 2019

Associate Professor Taylor is the Executive Director, Camperdown Health Education Research Precinct (CHERP) and Executive Director, Sydney Research for the Sydney Local Health District with over 30 years experience as a clinician and health service executive leader.

She is passionate about ensuring timely, safe, quality, patient and family centred care and health outcomes in the most appropriate and efficient manner. She has a strong commitment to enabling increased scale and translation of health and medical research ensuring consumer and community participation.

As Chief Executive of Northern Sydney Local Health District, Associate Professor Taylor played an integral role in, and led the redevelopment and reconfiguration of several major infrastructure projects, including Royal North Shore Hospital. During her six years in the role, she laid the foundations for optimal and sustainable outcomes for the local community, the people of NSW and beyond.

Associate Professor Taylor has served and serves on several boards, committees and organisations within the government, private, non-government, primary health, university and research sectors.

  • Grant awarded to study gut-liver communication

    Associate Professor Patrick Bertolino, Head of the Centre for Infection & Immunity at the Centenary Institute, and Associate Professor David Bowen from the same centre, have been awarded a 2025 Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) Project Grant. The $50,000 grant will support their study ‘Decoding Microbiome–Liver Communication via Portal Tracts.’

  • Mapping how the body fights respiratory infections

    The Centenary Institute has contributed to a major international study that has mapped how the human body responds to respiratory infections at a molecular level.
