Support us

Your support can make a big difference. By supporting the Centenary Institute you will be funding life saving research across cancer, cardiovascular disease and inflammation.

Medical research is transforming the future of human health at an incredible rate and our world-leading researchers are at the forefront of improving treatment outcomes for Australians. There are many different ways you can help.

Because of our supporters, we have made life-changing breakthroughs and lifesaving discoveries

  • Key mechanism identified for reducing chronic inflammation in cardiovascular diseases

A breakthrough discovery in understanding how white blood cells move in the body could pave the way for new treatments for chronic inflammation-related diseases including cardiovascular diseases, according to a recent study from the Centenary Institute.
    Dr Joyce Chiu
  • Increased genetic testing required to identify concealed cardiomyopathy

Researchers from the Centenary Institute have found that concealed cardiomyopathy is an important cause of sudden cardiac death where no cause is found from autopsy – and that genetic testing can help identify cases of concealed cardiomyopathy which provides a cause of death and also helps guide care of surviving relatives.
  • Discovery could open door to new COPD treatment

Research led by the Centenary Institute, the University of Technology Sydney and Ghent University Hospital, Belgium has identified a new therapeutic approach for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) – the targeting and inhibition of a protein called RIPK1.
  • New nasal vaccine strategy could improve COVID-19 protection

Researchers from the Centenary Institute and the University of Sydney have developed a new nasal vaccination strategy that induces potent lung immunity and protection against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
    Dr Anneliese Ashhurst respiratory researcher
