The Centenary Institute has highlighted its critical research into the biology of ageing – aimed at improving the quality of life for older people – at the 2023 NSW Seniors Festival Expo, held at the International Convention Centre, Darling Harbour, Sydney.

Associate Professor Andy Philp – Director of the Centenary Institute’s Centre for Healthy Ageing and an internationally renowned expert in skeletal muscle wasting disorders ¬ has been invited onto the editorial board of the respected Journal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle (JCSM).

The Centenary Institute and the University of Technology Sydney will lead pioneering research into age-related muscle loss, called sarcopenia, with a Dynamic Resilience Program contract from Wellcome Leap.
