Centenary Institute 2017 Annual General Meeting – Commercialising our discoveries

The Opening Address and Welcome by Centenary’s Chairman Joseph Carrozzi was followed by an introduction and reflection by our Executive Director, Professor Mathew Vadas AO.

Presentations by three of Centenary’s brilliant young scientists captured our discoveries and advancements.

  • Associate Professor Jeff Holst, Head of Centenary’s Origins of Cancer Program
  • Dr Ben Roediger, Head of our Skin Inflammation Group
  • Dr Yang Zhao, Vascular Biology Program

Professor Brendan Murphy, Australian Government Chief Medical Officer, Department of Health presented the Keynote Address and was followed by the annual staff scientific excellence and achievement award presentations.

2016 Student Paper Award (Highest Impact Factor for a student paper – Student  must be 1st author)

Professor Wolfgang Weninger, Head of the Immune Imaging Program and Assistant Director (161 citations)

2016 Centenary Institute Advocacy Award

The Advocacy Award has been established to recognise a member of the Centenary team who raises community awareness about the work and discoveries of the Institute. Through giving of their time and energy to promote the Institute.

The Translation and Commercialisation Award is designed to recognise achievements made in the area of translation and commercialisation. Research that is on track to impact in clinic practice and benefit the community and or be on track for commercialisation.
