Centenary Institute mourns the passing of Dame Marie Bashir

A well-respected and much-loved figure in the Australian community, Dame Marie possessed a deep and enduring passion for the health sector. The Centenary Institute was privileged to benefit from her support and patronage, and is immensely proud of her long-standing association with our work and her unwavering support for medical research.

As Founding Patron, she was a renowned advocate for scientific discovery, championing its vital role in improving health outcomes for the wider community. She took a keen personal interest in the Institute’s progress and was a valued supporter of its researchers and research programs.

The Institute deeply appreciated Dame Marie’s visible commitment to the sector and her encouragement of scientists at all stages of their careers.
