THE PASSING OF NEIL LAWRENCE

Statement from Centenary Institute Executive Director, Professor Mathew Vadas AO:
“On behalf of the Centenary Institute, I wish to convey our great sadness and disbelief at the tragic loss of our long-term supporter and former Board member, Neil Lawrence.
Neil served on the Centenary Institute Board of Governors between 2006 and 2013. In 2008 he executed the strategic rebranding of the Institute, tirelessly offering his expertise, support and guidance. He served as Chairman of Centenary’s Foundation from 2008 to 2012. He was instrumental in launching the Foundation’s annual dinner in 2009.
In recognition of Neil’s creative contribution to the Centenary Institute, an annual prize for young, innovative scientists was developed in 2012, affectionately named “The Centenary Institute Lawrence Creative Prize”.
Neil has been a champion of the Centenary cause, as well as a great friend to many of us and we are deeply saddened by his passing.
We offer our sincere condolences to Neil’s wife Caroline, his family and friends during this extremely difficult time.”
