Dr Justin Wong
Head, Epigenetics and RNA Biology Program
Dr Justin Wong is a senior postdoctoral scientist in the Gene and Stem Cell Therapy Program at the Centenary Institute. He currently holds a fellowship awarded by the Cancer Institute of NSW. He completed his PhD in the area of cancer epigenetics in the laboratory of Professor Robyn Ward at the University of New South Wales. He is an active member of the Australasian Genomics Technologies Association (AMATA) and the RNA Society.
His Program focus on deciphering novel gene regulation mechanisms in normal biology and cancer. He is passionate about determining the control of processes such as alternative splicing and RNA modification in cells. His vision is to acquire knowledge concerning epigenetic changes, alternative splicing and RNA modification, which may be useful for the development of novel therapies for human diseases, especially cancers.
