Peter ‘Wally’ Bamford Concert

In 2004 the Bamford family and friends lost a much loved son and mate, Peter 'Wally' Bamford. A fit, healthy, driven young man. A music lover. A family man.

Peter “Wally” Bamford went to sleep one night and mysteriously never woke up from Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndrome (SADS). They were to discover, this tragedy has happened to many other families.

Peter’s family are a musical family so with an even wider network of musician friends they decided to hold an annual concert. To celebrate his life and raise funds to find future treatments to save other young lives.

As with any charitable cause, there is a multitude of people that donate a huge amount of time and effort to make the concert not only enjoyable but to raise awareness for the Centenary Institute and SADS. In particular, the sponsors who continue to generously support the night, the Bushranger Hotel Collector and all the entertainers donate their time.

Each year money raised by the event goes to the Agnes Ginges Centre for Molecular Cardiology at the Centenary Institute, a cause the Bamford family feels strongly about.
