Centenary marks NAIDOC Week with special guest speaker
Hosted by Centenary’s Inclusion and Gender Equity Program (IGEP), the event featured a presentation by Associate Professor Corey Tutt OAM, Founder and CEO of DeadlyScience.
A proud Gamilaraay man and advocate for Indigenous STEM education, Associate Professor Tutt shared his personal journey and career, and highlighted the development and impact of DeadlyScience. The organisation supports First Nations students across Australia by providing access to science resources, educational opportunities and immersive STEM experiences.
His presentation, ’50 Years of Deadly: Indigenous Leadership & Future Generations in Science’, explored the importance of Indigenous leadership in science, education and research. He also discussed the opportunities and aspirations helping to shape the next generation of First Nations scientists and innovators.
The event provided an opportunity to recognise NAIDOC Week, learn more about Indigenous leadership in STEM and reflect on the importance of creating inclusive pathways into science and research.
The Centenary Institute thanks Associate Professor Tutt for sharing his experiences and insights, and all who attended the event in recognition of NAIDOC Week 2026.
