Professor Colin Jackson leads the Jackson Laboratory in Centenary Institute’s Centre for Biomedical AI. His research combines protein engineering, structural biology and machine learning to develop proteins for medicine and biotechnology. He holds a BSc (Honours) from the University of Otago and a PhD in Chemistry from the Australian National University, where he is a Professor in the Research Schools of Chemistry and Biology. His achievements include the ACT Scientist of the Year award in 2015, the Royal Australian Chemical Institute’s Rennie Medal and the Australian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Shimadzu Medal and the Society of Crystallographers of Australia and New Zealand Mathieson Medal.
