Jasmine Nguyen has been awarded the high honour of an early-offer University of Sydney International Scholarship, to pursue her COVID-19 and lung disease research, in a PhD at the Centenary Institute.

World-leading research into heart muscle disease has been boosted with the Centenary Institute’s Associate Professor Mathias Francois and team awarded a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Ideas Grant to investigate left ventricular non compaction cardiomyopathy (LVNC).

Research led by the Centenary Institute, the University of Technology Sydney and Ghent University Hospital, Belgium has identified a new therapeutic approach for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) – the targeting and inhibition of a protein called RIPK1.
